Bianca & Joshua

InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa

Bianca and Joshua met at the gym in Adelaide. Joshua was training with one of Bianca’s friends. She thought he was quite a looker, so Bianca introduced herself and the rest is history.

“We always wanted a destination wedding. A tropical setting, fun and casual with just close friends and immediate family. A friend recommended we look at the Intercontinental Fiji after she had been to a wedding there, so we went for a visit and fell in love. We knew it was the place we had to get married.

We used the Intercontinental wedding planners to help coordinate the day and our stay for the guests.

As long as you’re aware of ‘Bula time’ it’s pretty easy. Our only significant issue was Covid so we had to move our wedding date twice, rearrange everything twice, start and stop arrangements but we finally made our dream wedding happen

We did lots of internet research, discussions with the hotel and of course researching on Bula Bride, it was one of the first websites I came across.

I loved looking at all the reviews of the Intercontinental resort, the gorgeous wedding photos and how they showcased the facilities, it really helped cement the venue for us.

GETTING READY:

We booked Totoka Hair and Makeup for our hair and make up services. I couldn’t speak more highly of these girls! They were absolute professionals and so wonderful to deal with. They were happy to tailor makeup and hair to meet every individual need.

The Intercontinental helped us arrange our wedding favours, they were a bag of delicious nuts, which had a cute little card and message saying “nuts about each other” and our wedding date.

THE CEREMONY

Our ceremony and reception was on the lawn in the front of this restaurant by the beach.

The hotel arranged the set up and decor for the ceremony for us. From lanterns to a beautiful Arbor drapery with flowers. We hired a giant neon Love sign which we got from Fiji Weddings Atelier; they were also fantastic.

The Intercontinental arranged flowers and bouquets for us, and they were stunning! They were better than I imagined. We had acoustic serenades for the ceremony provided by the resort.

Wow they were outstanding and blew us away!

CAPTURING THE DAY:

We chose Leezett Photography to do our photos and video. We found her on Bula Bride, they had great recommendations and reviews. They had some incredible wedding videos we saw, and we knew we would regret it if we didn’t opt for the video package as well.

The photography was amazing, and they captured every wonderful moment. Were all amazing quality!”

Kirsty & Andrew

Lomani Island Resort

Kirsty and Andrew met in the Mediterranean summer of 2016 where they were working on superyachts. After finding each other online and months of chasing each other – they finally had the opportunity to meet while each yacht was cruising Sardinia, Italy. The connection was instant!

“We had a planned holiday to Fiji in April 2020 – right when Covid hit. So, like many we were forced to cancel our trip” Kristy said.

Since then, we became engaged, bought a house and have two fur babies.

We love travel, so we only saw it fit to drag our loved ones to a destination wedding to celebrate our love. We chose Plantation and Lomani because they accommodated both family and adults-only preferences.

We were initially booked at a venue on the mainland however after researching further we decided the island vibe was more down our alley.

GETTING READY:

Totoka Hair & Make Up did our hair and makeup – these girls did such a fabulous job! I had a trial done in Nadi a week before the wedding. I made a couple of small changes and both hair and makeup turned out even better on the day.

My dress was from “Made with Love’ while the bridesmaids dresses were from House of CB. The Groom and the guys wore: Suit Supply.

THE CEREMONY:

We opted for a white with some greenery and pink theme. Fiji Weddings Atelier also provided and did the set up at the reception.

Lomani Island Resort set up a bar just for our wedding and Sereana (wedding coordinator) surprised us with our own cocktail list. There was one called Sabarre and one called MacKinnon – it was a lovely touch!

Our dinner menu was a Fijian Seafood Feast! Our wedding cake was three tier cake and included in our wedding package. We had a topper made which we brought along with us.

Music/DJ/entertainment was by Billy and the Gang! We love our live music, so these guys were amazing – they had everyone up and dancing.

We had a sparkler send off and fireworks display organised by Fiji Weddings Atelier.

It was a very busy week in lead up to the big day with many friends and family arriving a few days before to enjoy Fiji. We had a family dinner, bridal party dinner, and massage for two.

CAPTURING THE DAY:

Ocean Studio did our photography and videography.

We were looking for intimate and fun – capturing great action shots and also had a few funny snaps with the bridal party.

Our photos and video is amazing – I think we have watched it a thousand times!”

Kelly & Jarmen

Malamala Beach Club

Kelly and Jarmen connected on Tinder and immediately clicked. They decided to forego a formal engagement and proceeded directly to marriage, as they had already planned a holiday in Fiji and thought it was the perfect opportunity to wed.

“Eloping was always in the plans for us; we both have a passion for exploring and traveling to new places, so incorporating that into our wedding was incredibly exciting. We adore the sun and sand, making a tropical beach wedding the ideal choice for us.

Bula Bride was immensely helpful; having all the information consolidated in one place was a significant aid, as there were many different sources online which could be quite overwhelming. I utilized vendors recommended on the website.

We chose Malamala Beach Club after extensive research. The moment we laid eyes on Malamala, we knew it was the perfect spot. Its natural beauty and the turquoise waters captivated us, and we immediately knew it would be the perfect setting for an intimate elopement.

As we had already booked to come on holiday, the most difficult was booking a venue in short notice that was available while we were here. Once we had locked in Malamala as a venue it was fairly straight forward, I did lots of research so I didn’t miss anything important and the staff at Malamala were also a big help as they took care of most things for us.

THE CEREMONY:

Our ceremony was an intimate and romantic affair by the beachfront, thoughtfully arranged by the Malamala staff. Usaia Np Weddings, our celebrant, provided the floral archway and bouquets, adding to the beauty of the setting.

We aimed for an intimate tropical beach elopement, and that’s precisely what we experienced. As laid-back individuals, our priority was to have a stress-free and wonderful day, focusing solely on each other, and it was exactly as we envisioned utterly stress-free and magical.

We had a grand cabana overlooking the beach and we spent most of the day there, we had a delicious lunch and plenty of cocktails! We also explored Malamala and spent some time in the pool and the crystal-clear water of the ocean.

Marrying my best friend in the most stunning location was the highlight; we’ve always dreamed of eloping, and having done it, we’d recommend it to anyone considering it!

The Malamala staff were exceptional, ensuring we were well cared for-they truly made our day special. Likewise, all our other vendors were outstanding.”
